2. Turkey
This country has made a dramatic turn with regards to Islam and Muslims. Its founder Ataturk tried to exclude Islam out of public life and push Islam to become a private issue at home. However, Turkey has managed to become a major exporter of halal products with an interest in halal tourism and Islamic fashion. It has become an inviting country of great diversity, with quiet villages and busy cities. A country full of history where tradition coexists with modernity, where mobile phones ring in bazaars scented with saffron and traditional Turkish hospitality.
